We are unaware of any materials on social skills specific to incarcerated youth, but there is clearly a need for this. We will survey our members, and if there is nothing available, perhaps someone will want to design material for the site.

I work with inner city school children in a community with multiple gangs and significant poverty. I like alot of intormation on your website, but find that it doesn’t always work or fit this population. Do you have any materials or can you suggest some for working with students who have poor social skills due to an environment that fosters dysfunctional social skills? It is very difficult for students to adapt to the school setting. Part of my role is to bridge the gap. Thank you!!!
Unfortunately we don’t have any information specifically for the population you described, but I think you will find that many of these tools and techniques would apply, including such issues as: anger management, handling bullies, emotional communication, and many more.
